I thought I'd post a little about Cooking Showdown so that people that don't know about it aren't entirely lost when they read posts like the previous one.
Cooking Showdown is a Japanese cooking show. There are two chefs, each cooking a different dish. There is a special ingredient for each dish that's super expensive and hard to find, etc. The 11 potential diners (some celebrities in Japan, others are just regular people. I want to be one of those regular people someday but I'd be really sad if I didn't get to eat. I might even cry. o.0) vote on which dish they want. Majority rules so the dish with the most votes is eaten... but only by the people that voted for it. The people that voted for the losing dish don't get to eat and the cook has to eat the dish by himself. Usually, it's this ridiculous amount of food so it makes that scene even sadder when they show the cook eating. It's a funny show that makes you hungry. Those of you with TiVos, I would reccomend looking it up and getting a season pass. Those of you that are deprived of TiVos, it is on on Saturday at 8:00 pm on channel 18, KSCI (in LA only). I'm not sure where else it might be played but I'll post if I find out. If you know of another time/channel that it airs, put it in the comments and I'll make a list. Btw, there are English subtitles if you don't understand Japanese.
