a Culver's love story.

Barrel Bear
We went to Culver's after dinner a few nights ago.
Thus, the hilarity ensued.
I shall impart said hilarity to you with minimal interruption... the commentary will come later.

Barbie: Hi, I'd like a small pecan concrete mixer please...
Joe: Hey, didn't I see you at Walmart?**
Barbie: Yeah! Oh my god, you were in the aisle with the flowers and stuff!
Joe: Yeah.
Barbie: Oh my god, you work at Culver's?***
Joe: Yeah.
Barbie: So do I!
Joe: Oh, yeah? Where?
Barbie: Savage.
Joe: Oh, wow. That's crazy... you work at Culver's in Savage.
Barbie: I know!
Joe: What do you do?
Barbie: Cash register... well, basically everything except for the grill. 'cause... I'm underaged.
Joe: Oh, so you're 15.
Barbie: Yeah...
Joe: Oh....... I'm pretty good at the grill.****

**The ultimate pick-up line. Fo sho. It doesn't get any better than that, folks.
***No, sweetheart, he doesn't work at Culver's. He just likes stealing the uniforms of the people that do work there and standing behind the counter.
****.............................. -face/palm-

Unfortunately, that's when we left to go sit down.
I was thoroughly disappointed.
But, being the genius snarkists that we are, it of course came up at the table...

Mom: I missed it.
Me: Oh, it was awesome.
Dad: It was pretty hilarious.
Grandma: They're in love! It's fate!
Me: I am so blogging about this.... but they need names.
Grandma: Culver's Fry Boy. Grill Boy.
Me: Did he have a name tag?
Mom: You could have to go to the bathroom.
Dad: You could go ask him for an extra spoon.
Me: And then I could be like, "Hey, didn't I see you at Walmart?"
Dad: Or you could just skip to the next part and say, "Oh my god, you work at Culver's!?"
Me: -chokes on sundae-
Parents: -dies of laughter-
Grandma: -shoves napkins in my face-
Mom: Did you just laugh ice cream out your nose?
Me: Yeah.... and I think some of it might of come out my eyes too...
Dad: Ow...

I finished cleaning frozen custard off my face, finished my sundae, and then we left.
It was then that my dad and I decided that the Culver's Grill Boy would be Joe.
Barbie was kind of just a given, in my opinion.

So, they got married, had way too many kids as every Minnesotan family seems to, and died happily ever after.

And so ends the Culver's dinner sho--I mean love story.

birthday and such.

Totoro
I had a pretty awesome birthday yesterday. ^_^

We went to a deli/bakery/restaurant in St. Paul for brunch.
I had been craving a pastrami sandwich all week, and my mom was told that this place would have good pastrami.
I got a pastrami sandwich on light rye with a pickle, cottage cheese, and cherry lemonade.
It was all very tasty.
After that, we went straight to a single-screen movie theater that makes their popcorn with real butter.
We saw Bolt, which I must say is probably one of the most adorable animated movies I have seen in a long time.
Plus, there was the little Cars short-film beforehand that was just... so perfect and hilarious.

Then we went home.
My parents walked the dogs, while I took my picture for my February project.
Then we went and tried a sushi place for dinner.
It was pretty good, and I loved that almost every single song that played while we were there was Beatles. =]
After that, we went to Culver's for sundaes (and my mom got deep fried spicy cheese curds).
Then we got home and watched Kung Fu Panda.
My parents also told me about the last present they're getting me.
It's a customized camera bag!
I'm so excited. =D

I also got one other present from them today.
I had asked my mom to put an album by Eren Cannata on my wishlist.
She apparently made other arrangements.
She got me a signed copy of the album, and an autographed picture!!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

So that's all awesome...
But sadly, my kitty's a bit under the weather right now. =[
I really hope she gets better soon....

Type your answer (one or two words work best) to each question into flickr photo search (everyone's uploads) and decide if you want to choose from "Most relevant" "Most recent" or "Most interesting" and use that for all 12 questions.

Pick an image from the first page of search results. Paste that photo's page url into the appropriately numbered response of bighigelabs mosaic maker (set to a 3X4 grid). Make a mosaic and post it.

Cooking Mama
I made dinner for me and my parents earlier this evening. Last time my mom was at Sam's Club, she bought a top sirloin roast, which I ground up along with some garlic. Seasoning included salt, paprika, and Penzeys Barbecue of the Americas. The patties were topped with melted cheddar cheese and avocado slices, after being grilled to medium rare by my dad. My parents had their burgers as lettuce wraps, while I had mine on whole-wheat sourdough. As a side, there were turnips, which were boiled until soft, then placed in a dish to be seasoned with salt and red curry. That dish was placed in the oven so the turnips could crisp. I also made a sort of coleslaw, with chopped cabbage, spicy avocado sauce, and lemon juice. And there was a pickle spear... but I didn't pickle it or anything.

The parentals enjoyed it, so I consider it a win.
